I thought we hit pay dirt yesterday. I patiently waited for the wind to die and the seas to lay down. We pushed off around noon and headed straight for the inlet. As I turn the boat to port and head south in the inlet I see an insane amount of birds diving at the water. Oh what a way to start off the fall run, or so I thought. First cast, fish on! Damn it, small bluefish. Cast after cast,  nothing but small bluefish. I like catching bluefish just not the small ones.  I like tackle busters that go 10-15 pounds. Do yourself a favor and go back to the home page and look at the picture of Gina's boat record bluefish. Catching fish like that will get anyone addicted to fishing. After catching small blues on every cast I decide to run to the east looking for bigger fish. All that I found was acres and acres of bunker. We were so disappointed that nothing was on them. With water temps in the upper 60's, we are about 2 weeks away from all hell breaking loose. When it does, I plan on being there every day possible.
